i decided to start a new mocktail series here on the blog after my recent "mockarita post" for those of you who do not drink or temporarily cannot drink like me. i love me a nice boozy drink now and then, especially during the hot summer months that are ahead. i am going to be honest and say that i am a little bummed that i have to miss out on some cold refreshing sangria this summer. i have been making myself mocktails aka non-alcoholic cocktails and they have been doing a fine job at keeping me satisfied. lately i have been craving bloody marys so i whipped up a pregnancy friendly version this afternoon and it turned out pretty darn good.
bloody mary mocktail:
3 1/2 oz. tomato juice
1/4 oz. lemon juice
worcestershire
celery salt
ground pepper
hot sauce
ice
pickled green beans or pickled asparagus (optional)
1/4 oz. lemon juice
worcestershire
celery salt
ground pepper
hot sauce
ice
pickled green beans or pickled asparagus (optional)
shake the tomato juice and lemon juice with ice. add worcestershire sauce and seasonings to desired taste. some like their bloody mary's very spicy, some like them mild. i personally like to add quite a bit of worcestershire and celery salt to mine to give it a real authentic bloody mary taste. garnish with a pickled green bean or five like i do. they are my favorite part. enjoy.
have a suggestion for a cocktail you's like to see mocked up? let me know and i'll do my best to give it a whirl.
