why parents drink... i cracked up reading this....

A boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick
one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed
the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.
"Hello?"
"Is your daddy home?" he asked.
"Yes", whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?" The child whispered, "No".
Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked,
"Is your Mommy there?" "Yes".
"May I talk with her?" Again the small voice whispered, "No"
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss
asked, "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes ," whispered the child, "a policeman".
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked,
"May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy", whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman", came the whispered
answer.
Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the
earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?"
"A helicopter" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.
Again, whispering, the child answered, "The search team just landed a helicopter".
Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they
searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle... "ME ."

Kate Hudson & Matt McConaughey Talk Parenting
He earned the Sexiest Man Alive title, but can Matthew McConaughy
get a Father of the Year award? "I think he will be an incredible dad," McConaughey's Fool's Gold costar Kate Hudson, 28, said recently. "I think because people see Matthew always out doing something whether [it's] out dancing in a bar or being on the beach or taking a hike with some crazy bandana on, I think that, like anything, they take their image and what they want somebody else to be and then they just run with that." The often shirtless McConaughey made note that the apple won't fall far from the tree: "Make no doubt about it. My kid will dance. He will be on the beach and he will be taking hikes with a wild bandana on." And despite tabloid coverage of 38-year-old McConaughey's behavior, Hudson is confident the actor, who announced girlfriend Camila Alves, who turned 25 Monday, is pregnant in january, will be a great family man. "Matthew happens to be one of the most loving and loyal people I know and his family is important to him," said Hudson, who has a 4-year-old son, Ryder, of her own. "He's great with kids and I think he'll be a very responsible and absolute blast of a dad." But will the little one have all the right moves like papa? Said McConaughey: "He might not dance like I do. Regardless, he or she is still going to have a little rhythm."

great quote...

I think we all have a little voice inside us that will guide us… if we shut out all the noise and clutter from our lives and listen to that voice, it will tell us the right thing to do. -- Christopher Reeve

Yael Naim - "new soul"

A PUPPY has been born in Japan with a large, clear, love-heart-shaped pattern in his coat. The Chihuahua was born in May as one of a litter to a breeder. Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said it was the first time a puppy with the marks had been born out of a thousand she had bred . She had no plans to sell the puppy, which has been named 'Heart-kun'. The long-coated male Chihuahua puppy was born in Odate, northern Japan

maya angelou...

i love what maya has to say below... she's a wise woman that i admire....

One of Oprah Winfrey's favorite people in the world, Maya Angelou has come out in support of Hillary.

The Clinton campaign is featuring the esteemed poet in a new radio commercial featuring her distinctive and captivating voice.

Says Angelou:

“As a child, Hillary Clinton was taught that all God’s children are equal, so as a mother she understood that her child wasn’t safe unless all children were safe.

I know what kind of president Hillary Clinton will be because I know who she is. Hillary Clinton has always been a strong woman and a passionate protector of families. For 35 years, that’s exactly what she has been doing.

Each generation of African Americans stands on the shoulders of those who came before. Today, the challenges facing us threaten the dreams we have had for our children. We need a president with the experience and strength to meet those challenges.

I am inspired by Hillary Clinton’s commitment and courage — a daughter, a wife, a mother — my girl.”

another quote...

"I only learned, last year, that love is infinitely more interesting, and more exciting, and more powerful, than really winning or really losing a fight." -- June Jordan

somebody is BEYOND talented... i wish i could paint like this...

i know some people will get a kick out of this...

Three quarterbacks, Manning, Romo and Brady, go to heaven to visit God and watch Monday Night Footlball. God decides who will sit next to him by asking the boys a question...
God asks Peyton Manning first: "What do you believe?"
Peyton thinks long and hard, looks God in they eye, and says, "I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I believe in giving. I was lucky, but i always tried to do right by my fans." God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning, and offers him a seat to his left.
Then God turns to Tony Romo and says, "What do you believe?"
Tony says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the field." God is greatly moved by Tony's sincere eloquence, and he offers him a seat to his right.
Finally, God turns to Tom Brady: "And, Tom, what do you believe?"
Tom replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

quote....

"You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life." -- Zig Ziglar

oooh... this gave me the chillz...

"I grow slightly dizzy with delight; my respiration and pulse slow. In her presence, in her touch, in the laying on of hands, there is a sufficiency, a plenitude of touch." -- David Roche

i couldn't have said it better myself...

my hat goes off to you STAR JONES...i respect you for this... i agree with you 100%... she wrote this for her column.....

"Since we learned of actor Heath Ledger's untimely death on Tuesday afternoon, the basic fact is that until additional tests have been conducted, the autopsy is incomplete and inconclusive as to why this 28-year-old man died. That's what we know.

Let's get to what we don't know: his death was a tragic accident, or something to the contrary. Until we know for sure, I think the media should just shut their mouths and stop all the speculation that's been running rampant.

This man has a two-year-old daughter. His family is going through the worst time in their lives. Their hearts are broken, they're numb, they can't understand what's going on right now. Michelle Williams is trying to figure out how to explain to their little girl that she will never see her daddy again. It's heartbreaking, tragic, and it's being used to fuel our never ceasing desire to eavesdrop on the lives of others.

Please let them grieve in privacy and dignity for a few days at least for goodness sake. As far as I'm aware, Heath Ledger never did anything but conduct himself in the most respectful and charismatic way. He gave us exactly what we asked of him -- good entertainment and our $12 worth when we sat our butts in the seats of a movie theater. He made his living in the entertainment business, but he purposely chose not to make his life that way. He was by all accounts a normal guy in every way, a regular dad who was often photographed walking down the streets of Manhattan or Brooklyn with his daughter, Matilda.

The scene outside his apartment on the night Ledger died made me sick to my stomach. People gawking and waiting around for a body bag to be removed. I have been at similar scenes in my work as an assistant district attorney. And let me tell you, if you don't have to be there, you wouldn't want to be. It's morbid. Someone who was loved is in that bag... and trust me it takes more than a minute to get used to that.

And when actress Michelle Williams and her daughter arrived home in Brooklyn, the scene was just as bad. Instead of being allowed to enter her home in privacy, she had to endure the flashbulbs of the paparazzi waiting to snap the money shot. How she explained that to her child through her grief is something I hope never to experience.
Might I suggest that we in the media, instead of reporting on the dead based on gossip, rumor, innuendo and anonymous sources, choose to honor this man's memory based on his talent and the good taste we all should be exercising. My heart goes out to the family of Heath Ledger."

got this email this morning...

Letter from one 'Angry Woman'
I don't know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words. This woman should run for president.

Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?..Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem' -- Ronald Reagan

I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this.

'If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.' Also by.. Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: 'A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out.'

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON,AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM. AMEN!

quote....

"Did you ever hear that song from 'Snow White'--'Someday My Prince Will Come'? The good news is that every now and then he actually does show up. But I'm afraid that's only half the story." -- Oprah Winfrey

i am squealing with delight over this adorable baby!

"RORY AND MILLIE"
(You Don't Fool Anyone Pretending To Be A Dog.)

Just like his Labrador friends, he wags his tail, fetches sticks, and rolls on his back to have his tummy tickled.
But the hooves and mane give way his real identity - he's a SHETLAND PONY!

Eight-week old RORY picked up his canine traits after he was befriended by dogs at the Essex Horse and Pony Sanctuary in Pitsea.

Rory was rejected by his mother after he was born. After arriving at the sanctuary he became ill and spent all his time being nursed in the office - attracting the interest of Labradors Alfie and Millie - owned by stable manager Sam Edwards. Rory lay in Sue's lap with his little hooves sticking out and Alfie would come up and wash them.

When Rory was left with a white mustache after drinking milk, Alfie would clean that too.

Rory fetching a stick.

Rory at play.

Despite all, Rory ended up being closer to Millie because she was nearer his size. Shetland ponies are herd animals by nature, learning by copying other ponies. If they are placed with another animal, they will copy them.

A lady was video taping her son riding a skate board when her attention switched to an old woman trying to cross the street. You might need to watch it twice to get the full effect on the driver. You can hear the photographer giggling as she records the event.

why wedding dresses come in white...

A son asked his mother the following question: "Mom, why are
wedding dresses white?" The mother looks at her son and
replies, "Son, this shows your friends and relatives that
your bride is pure."

The son thanks his Mom and goes off to double-check this
with his father.

Dad why are wedding dresses white?
"The father looks at his son in surprise and says, "Son, all
household appliances come in white."
