TORRINGTON, Conn. -- A pregnant mother of three is facing charges after police said she concealed drugs inside of her, putting her unborn baby at risk.
Police said they received a tip that two women were selling Ecstasy pills on Winsted Road Saturday night.
According to police, Heidi Keller, 37, was found with items commonly used to smoke crack cocaine and a kitchen knife.
Police said officers noticed Keller putting her hands down inside her crotch area shortly after being handcuffed, and that they suspected she was hiding drugs.
Keller repeatedly denied hiding drugs, according to Torrington officers. Police were granted permission for a female officer to perform a strip search on Keller, during which they said an open plastic bag with 14 Ecstasy pills was found inside her vagina.
Keller was arraigned on Monday on numerous charges, including narcotics and evidence tampering and risk of injury.
Police said Keller's record shows multiple arrests dating back a dozen years.
She remains held on a $50,000 bond.
